Michigan & Metro Detroit
Public safety DAS and wireless infrastructure, engineered in Michigan
WZC has been based in Michigan since 2006, and a large share of the buildings we have brought into compliance are within an hour of the office. If your building is in Metro Detroit, Ann Arbor, Lansing, Grand Rapids or anywhere else in the state, an engineer can usually be on site this week.
Where we are
Novi, Michigan
The office, the staging space and the engineers are all in the same building. It is where the equipment for your project gets configured before it goes anywhere near your ceiling.

Where we work in Michigan
Most of the state is a day trip from Novi. These are the areas we are in most weeks. Outside Michigan, the same standard is delivered by our nationwide bench: the office is here, the work is not only here.
The local part
Every jurisdiction reads the code slightly differently
Michigan adopts the International Fire Code with its own amendments, and each fire marshal applies it with their own expectations about submittals, testing and documentation. Knowing which is which is most of what a local firm is actually for.
We know the submittal each one wants
Some jurisdictions want an iBwave model with the permit application; some want the benchmark grid test first; some want the radio system's own band plan confirmed before they will look at anything. Getting that wrong costs weeks.
We test to the standard they enforce
IFC 510 and NFPA 1225 set 95% of grids in general areas and 99% in critical areas. Which areas are critical is the AHJ's call, and it is a conversation worth having before the design rather than at acceptance.
We own the relationship, not you
Coordination with the fire marshal is our job on every project. You should not be explaining a bi-directional amplifier to an inspector.

About working in Michigan
Which Michigan jurisdictions enforce ERCES requirements?
In practice, most of the ones issuing permits for new or substantially renovated buildings Michigan adopts the International Fire Code, and IFC 510 comes with it. What varies is how actively each fire marshal enforces it and what they want to see. Tell us the jurisdiction and we will tell you what we have seen them ask for.
How quickly can you get to my building?
For a benchmark grid test in Metro Detroit or Ann Arbor, usually within the week. Further out in the state, usually within two. An emergency, a citation, a held certificate of occupancy, moves to the front.
Do you only work in Michigan?
No. The office is in Novi and a lot of the work is local, but WZC delivers nationwide and has done since well before this page existed. If you have one building here and thirty elsewhere, that is a conversation we have often.
Can you take over a system another Michigan contractor installed?
Yes, and we do it regularly, particularly annual recertification on systems whose original installer has moved on. We start by testing what is there and telling you its actual condition.
Let's solve your wireless challenge
Tell us about your building and goals. A WZC engineer will get back to you within one business day.
